ANT PANTONE MUMBOT PARIN HEIDARI ALIMO JUICE BRUNS NOAH KOCHER CLAIRE SALVO HAZED PEDRO BAEZ OVECK

The exhibit will be on display at:

The Canal Street Show

Friday, April 14th, 2023 — 7pm to 12am

LUME STUDIOS, EDEN LOFT, 393 Broadway, Soho

ABOUT THE EXHIBITION:

“The Physicality of the Digital” explores the blurred lines and evolving relationship between physical and digital art.

In 2023, there are an exponential number of ways to create with purely digital means. However, the 10 artists in this exhibition choose to maintain elements of their traditional practice, carefully and intentionally blending them into the digital world.

Through a combination of static and moving imagery, these artists have remixed mutliple genres to develop their signature style and body of work, each challenging the viewers’ perceptions in a unique way.

The works span across the mediums of abstract painting, illustration, video, animation and collage. The exhibit calls to those who are passionate about the details & experimental approaches, bringing the viewer closer to the process.

“The Dreamer”
by Pedro Baez
(Digital painting)

"The Dreamer" is a self portrait of the artist as a child experiencing a vivid day dream. His imagination is coming to life around him taking forms and shapes that are from the beyond; a view into a different dimension, described by the artist as the "in between". The artist's day dream of the "in between" is an interpretation of where dreams and ideas come from; a view into the "Collective Conscious" and the curious creatures that inhabit it called the "Atomos".

Pedro J Baez is a Venezuelan born painter, sculptor, tattoo artist, and all around creative. His work focuses on exploring the mysteries of our universe using the visual language of quantum physics and the many theories of our reality; particularly the concept of the Collective Consciousness. Pedro explores the Collective Consciousness with his artwork as the place where ideas come from and how it’s connected with everything we have ever come to know.
